What a weekend!
The boys and I had so much fun this weekend! We left home around noon on Friday and headed up to Lake Hartwell with Christine and James for the weekend. Her parents have a house on the lake and the view was just beautiful. We hung out, took a short walk, and had just a few :-) glasses of wine Friday night along with a delicious lasagna dinner. Saturday we headed to Greenville around 10:30am to watch Greensboro College vs. Birmingham Southern - D3 lacrosse (but of course). Greensboro won 15-6. Before the game, Kyle Hughes, F middie #30, came and chatted with us for a bit. Christine works with his dad. He gave the boys some great suggestions and Christine and I some insight into college ball and what to do if your son wants to be recruited.
After the game, Coach Cetrone chatted with us as well. Gave the boys the best recommendation ever...I asked, if there is ONE THING the boys should be doing right now, what would it be? His response - USE BOTH HANDS! It was very nice of coach to take time out to talk to us and then we were invited to the tailgating party. Nice group of players/parents for sure.
After the game we went to Henry's Smokehouse for some real BBQ...wasn't what we hoped but it filled our hungry bellies for sure!
Oh yea, forgot about the trip to Greenville...we stopped just over the border in SC and got some fireworks :-)....needless to say, when we got back from our trip that evening the boys were more than ready to test them out. The wind didn't cooperate much so we weren't able to do all of them but G-Pa (Christine's father) helped them test out a few.
The next day Barbara (Christine's mom) made quiche, etc. for breakfast and awesome sloppy joe's for lunch. Between meals the boys went kayaking with G-Pa. Here are some pics of the weekend. SO FUN!
