SUCH an awesome time!

We did SO much while we were away!

Thursday - got to National Harbor a little after 8pm and took the boys to the pool.
Friday - Washington Monument, White House, Spy Museum, lunch at the Folk Festival, and the Natural History Museum (oh, and the ride to and from on the Metro!), then burgers and hot dog back at the hotel
Saturday - Holocaust Museum, Lincoln Memorial, Vietnam Memorial, WWII Memorial (and again the Metro), ending the day with dinner at a fantastic restaurant at National Harbor and a countdown to sunset.
Sunday - Pentagon Memorial and Arlington National Cemetery and then a delicious chicken and rib bbq dinner at mom/dad's house.  Not to mention our special guests - Kate and Cailin!
Monday - Baltimore National Aquarium
Tuesday - for lunch on the drive home we stopped by Dain's in Durham which was featured on Man VS. Food.  Very cool to say we've been.

PHEW!  I get tired just THINKING of all the walking we did!  Mom, Dad, thanks for an amazing vacation!

6 more days!

Well yesterday the boys and I headed to Wally World to get all of lil Phil's necessities for his camp: fan (can you believe the dorms are NOT air conditioned?!), gatorade, swim suit, flip flops, etc.  You can tell he's getting excited even if he's not showing it too much....really, what 13 year old boy shows any emotion!?

This weekend Jeff is going to get his "mopped chopped" for our visit with Nana and PopPop.  He asked for it a few weeks ago, but every time I said let's go he decided not to.  Yesterday when I told him he was getting it cut this weekend he said, "good, it's getting annoying". LOL...guess it's time.

Not sure what daddy's going to do with a whole house all to himself for nearly a week.  Ahhhhhh, the bachelor life.

Countdown to June 24th!

We're just one week away from our big trip!  Around 6:30am on Thursday, June 24th, I will load up 5 boys, ages 12-13, for a trip to Durham, North Carolina then on to Washington, DC.  We will drop three boys off at Duke University for lacrosse camp, including our one and only "lil" Phil.  He'll spend 3 hot and glorious days on the campus learning from the new NCAA Division I Lax Champions!  Little did we know when we registered him for this overnight camp back in March that Duke would go on to win the title this year!  How awesome is that!?

Anyway, so we drop three of the boys off at Duke, then Jeff, his friend, and I proceed up 85 then on to 95 towards our final destination at the National Harbor in Washington, DC.  Mom and dad reserved a timeshare there and we can't wait!  Friday, Saturday, and Sunday will then be spent touring the capital, enjoying the game room and pool at night, and eating fantastic food!

We'll come home either the following Monday or Tuesday, we haven't decided yet and we're NOT in any hurry.  We need a break and the countdown begins...............
