Update to scheduled weekend

Well, I found out Friday morning around 7am that the tournament I worked for three weeks to coordinate was cancelled (it was supposed to be Friday and Saturday). Needless to say, I was/am NOT a happy camper. The varsity coach told me they would play in the rain, not the lightning, which is understandable...however there was NEVER any lightning the ENTIRE weekend - just rain! Now it's Sunday, Jeff's got a game and he's playing. So basically, 9 and 10 year olds can play but high schoolers can't, go figure. So, below is the amended schedule as it actually happened this week:

Monday - taxes at 6:30 (I had dropped off our paperwork during lunch so we were only there for 10 minutes!)
Tuesday - practices at 5:30 and 7 (so we're actually at the field from 5:15-8:30)
Wednesday - practices at 5:30 (cancelled)
Thursday - Sarah getting spayed (she also had glaxoplexy surgery and has a HUGE incision now)
Friday - High School tournament (cancelled) - what I actually did: dropped Phil's car off at the dealership for some work/tires; took some "friends" to Red Robin for lunch; ran some errands while the "friends" stayed home; watched the new James Bond movie that night; lil Phil ended up joining his lax coach and a few friends for the Harvard vs. Presbyterian lax game at a local HS (I guess college kids play in the rain too!) then he slept over at the friend's house
Saturday - High School tournament (cancelled); Jeff-10am game in Marrietta (cancelled); Phil-10am game at home (cancelled); Phil-4pm practice in Cherokee County (for Crush) (cancelled); Jeff has a sleepover that night (it's 7:21am Sunday and he's still there) - what we actually did: picked up Phil's car, dropped mine off for new tires; picked lil Phil up; went to Party City for raffle tickets; I got new tennis shoes (it's only been 2 years, at least); went to Super Target for a bday card while we were out (for the sleepover); picked my car back up; watched the James Bond movie again since lil Phil hadn't seen it on Friday night; did laundry, cleaned the floors, blah blah blah
Sunday - Jeff-2pm make up game from 2/28 at home; Phil-2pm select scrimmage in Cherokee County - well it's now 7:29am on Sunday morning so I guess I can't give an actually play-by-play yet but as far as I know Jeff still has his game but Phil's scrimmage has been cancelled.
Sunday night - crash

Weekend and this week

Well, we had a fun filled and packed weekend. Friday night we went to the High School lacrosse game and then the boys and I ran out to Dick's Sporting Goods to get Phil new cleats...yes ladies and gentlemen, "lil" Phil now wears an 11 1/2 mens shoe...and yes, he's only 12. Saturday Jeff had a game at 10am in Marietta (lost 10-3) so we scooted out the door at 7:45am..lil Phil and I had to leave in the 4th quarter to get to his game which was back home by 12pm (won 13-2), then Phil had another game in Cherokee County at 3pm (won 11-2). We got home around 5:30 that afternoon at which time Jeffrey and I went back out, returned and picked up new movies, went grocery shopping, and picked up dinner. Sunday after Jeff and I went out to breakfast (that's our Sunday "date") the boys and dad went to the field for strength, agility, and speed training (daddy's working on that with them) while I cleaned the house. The other U-13 team had a game at 2 so we went to watch that and I worked the concession stand so the team mom could actually WATCH her son play. They ended up winning 8-2 I think.

On tap for this week:
Monday - taxes at 6:30
Tuesday - practices at 5:30 and 7
Wednesday - practices at 5:30
Thursday - Sarah getting spayed
Friday - High School tournament
Saturday - High School tournament; Jeff-10am game in Marrietta; Phil-10am game at home; Phil-4pm practice in Cherokee County (for Crush) ; Jeff has a sleepover that night
Sunday - Jeff-2pm make up game from 2/28 at home; Phil-2pm select scrimmage in Cherokee County
Sunday night - crash

Think that about covers it! Can you keep up? :-)

AWESOME NEWS!

Our boy, Phil, made the travel select team for the U-13 Atlanta Crush! He's beyond excited and we're so proud of him! Their practices will probably begin next week which means he may end up playing lacrosse every single day of the week b/c he's already on a local team here in Forsyth County, West Forsyth Youth Lacrosse (website link to the right). The actual season for the Crush begins at the Bagataway tournament (think that's May 18th & 19th) which just happens to be another tournament that West Forsyth will play in so I'm not sure how we're going to swing that...hopefully they won't play against each other! Otherwise he'll just be one tired puppy playing one game after another! They have 10-12 local games throughout the summer as well as two more local tournaments but his schedule also includes a tournament in early June in TOWSON, MARYLAND and another 4th of July weekend in Charlotte, NC! ROAD TRIPS! Any grandparent sponsorships (aka donations!) would be greatly appreciated! hahahaha

So you know how big this is..here's a link to the site:

This is the best of the best in his age group.

What an exciting weekend of games!

We had such an adrenaline pumping Saturday! PHEW! Jeff's first lax game was at 10am so I left around 8:15 to get the concession stand set up, etc. As many of you know, the south is really into their football and, because of that, all of our football fields in the county are changing to turf! Well guess what, WE, the lacrosse teams, were the first to use them yesterday! They are NICE! I never imagined my 10 year old would be playing on a turf field, go figure. Anyway, the team ended up losing the game but boy did Jeff have a fantastic one himself. He's decided recently that he likes defense (as opposed to attack which is what he has played every other season). He was directing the boys, running the ball up the field (even took a shot on goal once), and being aggressive. He was just awesome!

Phil's game began at 1:45 closer to home and on a really, pardon my french, crappy field. It was at a local middle school and it was all sand/dirt. Needless to say, our Phil scored the first of 12 goals! Man was it incredible. His back was facing the goal, he got the ball, turned, and shot, all in one motion! SWEET! He scored another goal later in the game - he plays right attack - where he was practically side by side with the goal, probably had about 4 inches of space to actually make a goal, and he got it in there! His team ended up winning 12-4, with 6 players scoring so you know it's a TEAM effort, not just one hot shot scoring all the goals.

I hope some of you will be able to come watch a weekend of games! The boys would love it and I'm sure you'd have a great time too!

Today Phil is trying out for a travel/select team. He's been very nervous and really wants this so keep your fingers crossed!

Spring has sprung!

So besides the snow yesterday and the freezing wind today, here are some signs that Spring is around the corner!
