a little this, a little that

These weeks are just flying by although when I'm sitting at my desk on my a** all day it takes FOREVER!  Today is the last day of school in our county but yesterday was Jeff's last day.  I can't believe we'll have 2 high school boys this fall.  Where oh where did the time go.  It's so bitter sweet.

It's Memorial Day weekend and we don't have much planned.  I am going to stop by a graduation party tomorrow and Jeff's going to a bday sleepover tomorrow evening.  I'm hoping to talk Phil into going to the boat sometime this weekend and I'm sure we'll make our weekly trip to Lowes for something we don't need in the back yard....Home Depot and Olive Garden anyone? LOL, movie joke, never mind.

Speaking of boat, we just lowered the price again...it's now at $54,900 so if anyone's interested, here's the link:  http://www.boattrader.com/listing/2006-Four-Winns-278-Vista-100531622

A week from today, Jeff and I will be heading to Charleston for his lax tournament.  Robby and the family are meeting us there.  I'm really looking forward to seeing them and checking out what we can of the city.  We may even take the team to watch Crooked Arrow - the first lax movie ever!

Phil has been doing an awesome job with the garden he built about a month ago.  All the veggies are growing and we actually had a salad using the lettuce yesterday.  Pretty cool to eat your own home grown food.  Here's a few pics.  He plans to build a few more boxes later on.

I also found this picture of Phil on the HS lax shutterfly account and thought you guys might like it.

And lastly, here's Jeff's Exiles team picture from this summer.

I hope everyone has a safe and happy Memorial Day weekend...can't wait to see mom and dad next Wednesday!

Love ya! H

It's Friday...Friday.....

OMG now I can't get that da*n song out of my head!  Boy oh boy what a week...as usual.  Monday was Jeff's Sr. Select banquet which went off great.  Tues-Thurs he had Exiles practice - that's his summer ball team, and tonight we have a day off before the tournament this weekend. Well, not actually a day off.  We're having friends over tonight and their son is spending the night since he needs a ride to the tournament tomorrow.  They've got 3 games tomorrow and 1 on Sunday.  Phil's going to come to the first one but then head home to take "young"(not "little" anymore) Phil to guitar and smoke something on the green egg.  At least I'll have a delicious dinner waiting for me when I get home.

So we bought some new bird feeders last weekend and now we have squirrels and crows in our backyard...WTF!  We haven't had a squirrel since we've lived here!  Our backyard is becoming a jungle.  Earlier this week we had a chipmunk hanging on for dear life from one of the bird feeders but I actually thought that was cute...crows I'm not so keen on.

LOL, I just reread that last bit...I am soooo my mother's daughter!  :-)

Until next time......Love ya!  Me

My name is Heather...AKA the slacker

Seriously, as much as I want to keep this blog thing updated, it's just really difficult with the boys' schedules, our "work-life" balance, and getting crap done around this house.  There's always something going on.  I'm hoping that with the end of HS and Sr. Select lax that things will start to slow down.  Now we just have summer ball for Jeff so it will be great.  Just enough lax but not overwhelming.  Our first tournament is this weekend in town but then we're heading to Charleston for a tournament (I can't wait!) and then we're spending a week in North Myrtle Beach (WOOHOO)!  At the end of June, mom and dad will close on their house in North Augusta and will be down here permanently before you know it.  This is going to be a fantastic summer!  Parties in the back yard, good friends, good food, and great drinks! :-)

Update - Young Phil got his drivers permit on Saturday!  Congrats to him!
             - tonight is Jeff's end of season pool party/banquet

Wake up time

This morning I woke up and decided it was time to stop feeling blah, lazy, and just plain fat.  With the boys on spring break I was able to get up and take Sarah for a great walk around the entire neighborhood.  The temperature was still on the mild side, sun just coming up. It was so refreshing.  Got home, took a shower, made a healthy breakfast and now I get to sit on my a** for the next 6 hours in front of this computer...lovely.  It's gorgeous outside and I'm stuck in here!

I do have to take Sarah for her shots at 11:30 and I have the boys washing both cars, inside and out, today. Between 3-4 Jeff has asked me to take him to the field to throw the ball around with some friends.  I hope one of their mom's stay because I have to get back to work!

So, the real purpose of this post is to brag about my FABULOUS closet!  Besides a few more bins up top and a large mirror, it's DONE!  Completely love it!

School/Lax pictures

Here are the boys school and lax pictures from this year.  Update on this week...I took Phil to the doctor today and she did diagnose him with a concussion.  We have spring break next week and he's not allowed to even pick up a stick!  We go back on Monday, 4/9 (Jeff's bday - don't forget) for a recheck and to see if he's ok to play.
We will be finishing the closet this weekend WOOHOO...Jeff has as dentist appt on Monday, Sarah has an appt to get up to date on her shots.  Phil gets his braces on Friday.  Other than that, I think we're just going to work in the yard to fix it up for spring next week since there's no LAX...ahhhhhhh
I'll post pics of the closet when we're done!

Sorry guys

I know I've been slacking.  There's been SO much going on.  Amy came for a visit last weekend to watch the boys play.  Such a great visit!  She left on Tuesday and then Papa Phil arrived on Thursday and stayed till this past Monday.  We've also been remodeling our closet!  PHEW

The boys had a great lax weekend!

Holy Canoli!  The boys had a stellar weekend of lax and played their hearts out.  Phil started the weekend with a 14-0 win against North Atlanta then Jeff's team won 15-5 against Centennial.  Jeff played again on Sunday and beat Cambridge 12-4.  They are on a roll!

This week Phil has a game on Thursday against Norcross and Jeff plays Johns Creek tomorrow, Lambert (ugh) on Saturday and Alpharetta on Sunday.  Lambert's gonna be a tough one but if they play like they have been, they'll definitely persevere!

Update on the closet - we got the carpet pulled out, plywood sanded, wire racks out, and holes filled.  Phil's ordering the flooring in the next day or so and I have to paint!  I'm SO excited!
